Jimmy Patton
James Elliott, probably better known as Jimmy Patton, was one half of the much loved and well respected pantomime duo The Patton Brothers.
The Patton Brothers were a double act that comprised of real life brothers Jimmy and Bryan. The brothers came from celebrated theatrical stock and achieved huge respect within the pantomime industry. Other family members who made names for themselves in the theatre industry included their father Gene and their younger brothers Paul and Barry who were better known as The Chuckle Brothers. Their nephew Damian Patton continues to keep the family name alive and well in pantomimes nowadays.
Brian first teamed up with his brother Jimmy for the 1956 panto season having previously appeared as a solo panto performer from 1949-1951. Their first joint appearance was in Aladdin at the Wimbledon Theatre where they were The Chinese Policemen (roles that seem to have vanished from more recent versions of this panto) a role they were to play many more times.
